The Chinese electronics company, Xiaomi Corporations had launched their first ever Android Go smartphone, in India. The company had scheduled an event for 12 pm on the 19’th March, where it launched the new Xiaomi Redmi Go smartphone. Keeping in mind, to please it’s users and interested buyers the live-stream of the launch was made available in the company’s official handles on Twitter and YouTube. The company had already confirmed that the product will be available exclusively on the online shopping app Flipkart, hence users could also catch the live-stream on Flipkart.
Price and Specifications –
The company had already launched the Xiaomi Redmi Go in the Philippines priced at 3,990 Philippine Peso, which translates to ₹5422, and therefore a similar price tag is expected in India as well.
The Xiaomi Redmi Go comes with a 5-inch HD display, with 720×1280 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and runs the Go Edition of Android Oreo. The device is packed with a 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. The device boasts of an 8-megapixel single lens, rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. The device is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery, it has dual SIM functionality, and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS for connectivity.
Recently, Xiaomi launched Redmi 7 in China, another of its budget smartphones, which is the successor of the Xiaomi Redmi 6, launched last year. Redmi 7 is expected to be launched in the Indian market soon. The Xiaomi Redmi 7 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 639 processor, and runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system and is topped with the company’s own customization – MIUI 10.
