Xiaomi is expected to launch the new Redmi series today. The company will be streaming the launch at 12:30 pm this afternoon.
According to the banners on the online Mi Store, the company is teasing three different smartphone models. One of them has a notch while the other two retain the same design as the existing Redmi line of products.
According to the banner on the online Mi Store and notifications pushed out from smartphones, the prominent number ‘6’ suggests that the Redmi is now reaching its 6th generation.
The company may be launching the Redmi 6, the Redmi Note 6 and the Redmi Note 6 Pro. There is not much information on either the Redmi Note 6 or the Redmi Note 6 Pro regarding their specifications and features.
The Redmi 6 was launched in June this year in China. The smartphone comes with an Helio P22 octa-core chipset clocked at 2Ghz. It has a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels.

The Redmi 6 has a dual-camera setup at the rear with one being a 12-megapixel primary lens and the other a 5-megapixel secondary lens. The smartphone also has a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. It runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and will receive the MIUI 10 update. The Redmi 6 also has a 3,000 mAh battery pack.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro is expected to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with the same dual-camera setup. The smartphone is expected to get a design change as the company adds a notch to the display.
