Gone are the days when Facebook was the only way to stay in touch with friends and family around the world. Snapchat has proved to be really helpful to stay in touch in an interactive manner. Just when you thought Snapchat was meant to just send snaps to each other, Snapchat introduced the chat feature where you could chat with an another person.
Snapchat now introduces Chat 2.0 and a bunch of new features which establishes Snapchat as a full-fledged messaging service.
The Snapchat Blog reads, “Today, we’re excited to introduce Chat 2.0. You can start by sending a few chats, and when your friend shows up, start talking or video chatting instantly with one tap. Your friend can simply listen if you want to sing them a song, or watch if you have a new puppy to show them. If they aren’t there, you can quickly send an audio note to say what you mean. And sometimes, a sticker says it best.”
Apart from Chat 2.0, the Stories section also got some minor tweaks. You can now skip from a person’s story to another by swiping right instead of swiping down and clicking on the next one. Now each story features a time stamp.
Snapchat has been really dynamic in its approach and has continuously provided incremental updates to keep users engaged. The live filters launched sometime back have been really popular with snappers. With a blend of Facebook, WhatsApp and Skype, Snapchat is surely on top of its game right now. We’re surely excited to see what’s next from Snapchat!
