Xiaomi’s biggest event just kicked off with the launch of most awaited flagship killer Redmi K20 Pro and the affordable variant Redmi K20 in India. The Redmi K20 Pro and the Redmi K20 was first launched in China last month brought a host of new features. The Redmi K20 series will be the first from the brand with a pop-up selfie camera and optical scanner.

Redmi K20 Pro
Similar to Poco F1, the Redmi K20 Pro is the cheapest smartphone that is powered by the latest processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The K20 Pro is available in three RAM and storage configurations – 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Based on latest Android Pie operating system, the Redmi K20 runs MIUI skin on the top. To power this powerful smartphone, it houses a beefy 4,000mAh battery backed by 27W fast charging. In terms of connectivity, the Redmi K20 include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack.
The regular Redmi K20 is an affordable smartphone which packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC. It’s the latest Snapdragon 700 series chipset from Qualcomm based on the 8nm process and Kyro 470 cores with Adreno 618 GPU. The K20 has similar configuration of its elder siblings – 6GB RAM + 64GB Storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The K20 is packed with mAh battery backed by 18W fast charging.
While there is a difference between Redmi K20 Pro and the Redmi K20, there are a lot of similarities. Both the smartphones are the first smartphone from Xiaomi with a pop-up selfie camera design. The K20 duo sport a 6.39-inch full HD+ edge-to-edge display with no bezel or notch. It is also the first Redmi smartphones to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and triple rear cameras. The setup includes 48-megapixel f/1.7 primary sensor paired with a 13-megapixel f/2.4 secondary module and an 8-megapixel telephoto f/2.4 lens for depth sensing. For selfies, there is a 20-megapixel f/2.0 pop-up front camera which also integrated with glowing LED making it attractive. The phones also get PDAF, 2x optical zoom, a dual-LED flash unit and HDR.
Redmi K20 Pro is launched at INR 27,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant and INR 30,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant. While the Redmi K20 will be available for INR 21,999 for the 6GB+64GB variant and INR 23,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant.
