OPPO F7 is the company first smartphone to offer a bezel-less display with iPhone style notch on top. Though it is a mid-range device, it offers slightly better in-hand feel than its closest competitors. Thanks to the bezel-less edge to edge design, the Oppo F7 sports an impressive 82.5% screen-to-body ratio. Turning it around, we spot a single camera and a fingerprint sensor. The back panel has a glossy glass look, although it is only made of plastic. Talking about the display, it has a large 6.23-inch LTPS IPS panel with Full HD+ resolution that offers bright colours even in bright sunlight. In short, the IPS panel does an impressive job.

The Oppo F7 is powered by MediaTek MT6771 Helio P60 processor paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, there is also another variant with 128GB internal storage. The performance of the Oppo F7 is mediocre. It can get things done, but it’s not the fastest device for that price. Browsing web, social media apps are smooth, but switching between the apps is not as quick as I expected from a 20k budget smartphone. The Oppo F7 runs on android 8.1 Oreo with a layer of the company’s own ColorOS 5.0 skin. Battery-wise, it packs a 3400 mAh battery which offers atleast 8 hours of battery life on moderate to heavy usage.

Oppo has also stepped up the selfie game by injecting the power of Artificial Intelligence. It also features a 24MP selfie camera sensor that works on F/2.0 aperture and also has an AI-assisted beautify mode. The camera adds beautification enhancements wherever required to deliver impressive selfies. As far as the rear camera is concerned, Oppo simply added 13-megapixel sensor instead of dual camera setup.  So, the device lacks some functionalities including bokeh mode.

Oppo  F7 tried its best to pack edge-to-edge display along with company’s most touted 24-megapixel selfie camera. We do enjoy clicking selfies with its excellent front-facing camera and flaunt the new bezel-less display. However, Oppo F7 do comes with a tiny flaw including underwhelming processor performance and cheap plastic back housing.
