Oneplus stays true to their mantra Never Settle, and yet again set a new benchmark in the phone industry by bringing out the OnePlus 7 pro with a number of features.
HOW DOES IT LOOK?
Who says the looks doesn’t matter? Atleast I do and OnePlus 7 Pro looks absolutely stunning, especially the blue model(the one we received), which is finished with a silky, matte-finish glass at the rear. The OnePlus named it “nebula blue”, maybe inspired by Nebula from Avengers: The End Game. Nebula Blue variant also comes with top-specs. The other two colours – “mirror grey” and a sort of pearl white – look great too, but they don’t have quite the same wow factor. In the hand, the OnePlus 7 Pro feels a bit beefy as you can expect from a huge 6.67-inch display. This time the Pro model offers a cube that runs down the left and right edges of the phone, similar to Samsung S9+ and OPPO Find X. The rear glass feels silky smooth, making is vulnerable to drop, though the Gorilla Glass 5 at both front and rear can minimize the risk of damage, we suggest you to use a case offered with the phone. Similar to OnePlus6T, the OnePlus 7 Pro comes with an on-screen fingerprint sensor with a larger detection area for more reliable fingerprint reading.
HOW DOES IT PERFORM?
Packing the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset, the OnePlus 7 Pro’s performance is speedy and reliable. I didn’t run into any issues or lag with day-to-day tasks like launching apps or unlocking the screen with my fingerprint. I even played the games like PUBG, Asphalt 9 at high graphics setting and the lag was negligible. The gaming experience was pretty much fun on this device, thanks to the powerful processor and smoother 90Hz display. With 12 gigs of ram under the hood, it is bound to be the fastest phone OnePlus has created till date. We can say that this phone is one of the best looking phones out there.
HOW DOES CAMERA PERFORM?
OnePlus 7 Pro has a triple camera lens – ultra-wide-angle camera, a standard camera and a telephoto camera. Photos are clear, bright and vibrant. It can take great portrait shots. Though its depth of field was shorter than the high-end device. The 3X telephoto zoom combined with a 10x digital zoom means the phone could zoom in on faraway objects while maintaining clarity and stability. With the wide-angle camera, more subject can be placed in a single frame. One novel thing about the OnePlus 7 pro is its front-facing camera. It has a pop-up camera. The mechanism works smoothly and quickly, and its overall construction seems pretty durable. The selfie camera takes solid portrait shots too.
WHAT’S SO SPECIAL?
Fluid Display While most phones have a refresh rate of 60 frames per second, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a 90Hz display with a Quad HD resolution. By refreshing 90 frames a second, things like scrolling through webpages and apps feels really fluid.
Its near bezel-less screen, silky-smooth rear glass panel, cool pop-up camera mechanism and leading battery life make the OnePlus 7 Pro one of 2019’s most powerful phones. However, its less-than-stellar camera makes its users look elsewhere. So, is the OnePlus 7 Pro worth the price? Should you upgrade from your existing OnePlus device? Well, if you want top-notch features and you can ignore average camera performance, then this phone is definitely worth buying.
