What is it?

OnePlus has introduced a new color scheme for its flagship device, the 3T. Comes only with the top of the line 128GB variant. We got our hands on this exclusive Colette Edition which is limited to only 250 units, the midnight black variant is similar to this but misses out on the Colette branding.

How does it feel out of the box?

Let’s talk about the box only first- Going with the black theme, the box is also black in color along with a blue jacket on top which looks pretty neat. Similar to the OnePlus 3T, you get a Dash charger with a Type C cable, user manual and sim ejector pin inside the box. This variant also comes with a black back cover. The back panel of the OnePlus 3T looks similar to the Matte Black iPhone variant. According to the brand, it is made up of space-grade aluminum with three carefully applied dark coatings 14 microns thick which helps in maintaining the natural look and feel of metal.

How does it perform?

Since it uses the same 821 Snapdragon processor along with 6GB of RAM, performance is identical to the normal 3T. This is a good thing as you can multitask with as many applications as you want, play the most graphic loaded games and the 3T won’t break a sweat. The Adreno 530 GPU works like a charm coupled with this processor the overdose of RAM offers a desktop-like performance. The display is bright and vivid – Optic AMOLED with a full 1920 x 1080 resolution and a pixel density of 401ppi. The 3T also saw a battery upgrade to 3400mAh coupled with Dash charging which means that you can easily extract a day’s juice even after heavy usage and can charge it back to 100 percent in around 60 minutes. The front and the back camera are both 16MP and can click decent pictures and videos, however, a dual-camera setup would have taken things to another level. If rumours are to be believed, the OnePlus 5 will come with two shooters at the back.

Should I buy one?

Well, the OnePlus 3T has always been a great value for money proposition considering the high end specs that the phone has to offer. The addition of the black variant is a good move and should have been done earlier. That brings us to one last question- Has it made the best even better? In a word- Yes!
