HyperX Pulsefire Surge

The HyperX Pulsefire Surge gaming mouse features a fairly sleek design. While not as big, but it has a fairly good weight that makes it comfortable and gives a precise movement. The top of the mouse has a smooth matte finish, with a long left and right button. Between the button, there is a rotational wheel which also acts as a middle button. Right below it is the DPI button for toggling quickly between dpi settings. There is two separate button on the left side of the mouse which acts as a forward and back button. The controls can be changed with a Genuity software available on Windows platform. The RGB illumination is sandwich between the mouse upper and bottom layer. Even there is a HyperX logo which glows in any color you prefer.

As far as performance goes, the HyperX Pulsefire Surge is pretty responsive with its Pixart PMW3389 IR LED precision sensor and I had no issues with any of the games I tested. When playing GTA V or Battlefield 1 I encountered no lag. Testing on the Thermaltake mouse pad, the mouse feels responsive and precise. The mouse also features internal memory so if you use it on a different computer, you don’t need to reconfigure it to your liking.

Like the HyperX RGB Mechanical Keyboard, the HyperX Pulsefire Surge uses the NGenuity software for firmware updates and configuration. With the software, you can enable or disable the lighting, apply presets or configure your own. There are tons of feature you can customize your Pulsefire Surge. From Lighting, Performance to Macros. The RGB Lighting offers wide varieties of an option to select how you want the RGB on the mouse to be displayed. You can even customize the color of the RGB including animation like a wave, breathing or trigger. Performance can help you change the DPI and simultaneously changing to your configured color you set. Macros tab is for changing the button configurations. That being said, it does look pretty cool when you have the mouse, keyboard all using the same preset.

The HyperX Pulsefire Surge is a solid gaming mouse that has some added quirks like a maximum dpi and the most beautiful RGB illumination making it a perfect choice for gamers and PC setup enthusiast. Regardless, it’s versatile enough to be used in Gaming or browsing the web. For Rs. 5999, the price is right for this RGB gaming mouse and is recommended for the gamer that knows exactly what they like.
