Fossil has launched its Sport Smartwatch for the Indian market. It is now available at a price of Rs. 17,995 and is available through Fossil’s Indian website, retail and partner stores across the country. Under the hood, the Fossil Sport is powered by a Snapdragon 3100 chipset and runs Google’s Wear OS.
The watch comes with several features like a battery saving mode, enhanced ambient mode, an integrated heart rate sensor, NFC, GPS to name a few. Coming to the processor, the Snapdragon 3100 is specifically designed to be used specifically with smartwatches. It has four A7 CPU cores and also comes with a new Digital Signal Processor (DSP). Moreover, the processor ultra-low-power which in turn improves the overall battery life. Qualcomm says that the processor offers three different modes; Enhanced Ambient Mode, Dedicated Sports Experience Mode and a Traditional Watch Mode.
The Fossil Sport Smartwatch is available in two case sizes, a 41mm and a 43mm. With the Wear OS, it gets several features like Quick Swipe, faster access to info, a proactive google assistant and health coaching from Google Fit. Furthermore, it also gets connectivity options which include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy. The smartwatch draws its power from a 350 mAh battery which also supports Rapid Charging. With Rapid Charging, the smartwatch can be charged up to 80 per cent within an hour. With most functions being used, you can get a day’s worth of battery life and with the battery saving mode, the time telling can be extended by two more days.
