Xiaomi has launched the Beta version of the MIUI 9 Global ROMs for the third batch of devices. The company also mentioned the details of this release in a blog post on MIUI forums.
The third batch of devices on the receiving end of this Beta update are Mi Note, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi 2/2S, Mi Pad 3, Mi Pad 2, Mi Pad 1, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 4X MTK, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 4, Redmi 3S/3X, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note, Redmi 3, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2, Redmi 1S, and Redmi 1.
Redmi Note 4 with Qualcomm chipset, Redmi Note 4X, and Xiaomi Mi 6 were part of the first batch to obtain the Beta version. Other devices that received an update in the second batch include Xiaomi Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi MAX 2, Mi Max, Redmi 4 and Redmi 4x.
Xiaomi is testing its MIUI operating system to make sure that everything is optimized for the vast array of devices. Since Global Beta ROM has rolled out the final batch of supported devices to the third batch, software engineers at Xiaomi will rule out any problems that crop up with devices before launching the final update for all the Xiaomi devices.
The company stated that the ‘recommendation rate’ for MIUI 9 update is up to a staggering 93.3 percent in a poll conducted.
Xiaomi: What you should know?
For the uninitiated, Xiaomi uses a heavily customized version of Android in all its smartphones. And MIUI 9 is the latest version, which is based on Android Nougat 7.0.
However, before installing the update, keep in mind that you should be comfortable with the installation procedure. This procedure comes with the technical understanding to troubleshoot your way out if anything at all goes wrong. The company will not take the responsibility for any harm done to the user’s device or data.
