Xiaomi Redmi 6A launches along with the Redmi 6. It is priced at CNY 599 and will go on sale starting from 15th June onwards.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A has been unveiled by the company along with Xiaomi Redmi 6 at an event in Beijing. After the Redmi 5A, this latest Redmi 6A comes with new features like the latest Helio A22 chipset and 18:9 display. The design is similar to Xiaomi Redmi 6, however, it doesn’t get a dual camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The similarities are the AI-driven Face Unlock capabilities and the Xiao AI digital assistant.
Redmi 6A Specification
The Redmi 6A smartphone is powered by a Quad-core 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 SoC and runs MIUI 9 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. This dual-SIM (Nano) phone sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, pixel density of 295ppi, and a resolution of 720×1440 pixels. The storage capacity boasts of a 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
The camera specifications include a single 13-Megapixel rear sensor with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF, along with a 5-Megapixel camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture and Portrait mode for video calling and selfies. Sensors on board are proximity sensor, digital compass, ambient light sensor, and accelerometer. The battery backup of this phone is 3000mAh under the hood. The dimension of the phone is 147.5×71.5×8.3mm weighing 145 grams.
Redmi 6A Price and Availability
The Redmi 6A has been priced at CNY 599 in China (approx. 6,300 INR) for the lone 2GB RAM with 16GB inbuilt memory variant. Just like the Redmi 6, the first offline and online sale will start on 15th June from 10 am onwards.
