Xiaomi Redmi 6 has been launched along with the Redmi 6A at an event held in Beijing. The Redmi 6 is a successor of the previous year’s popular Redmi 5. Some of the key highlights of this latest phone are a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, horizontal dual camera setup, an 18:9 display, and Face Unlock. This phone also claims to feature AI-based capabilities powering Face Unlock sensor, its camera, and other aspects like the Xiao Ai Assistant. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Specification
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 is powered by an Octa-core 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 SoC clocked at 2GHz and runs MIUI 9 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. It sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an 80.7 percent screen-to-body ratio, 18:9 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 720×1440 pixels. The inbuilt storage is 32GB/ 64GB expandable up to 256GB via microSD card paired with 3GB/4GB RAM.
Talking about optics, it has horizontally stacked dual camera setup at the rear with a 12-Megapixel primary sensor, and a 5-Megapixel secondary sensor. These sensors come with a 1.25 micron pixels and AI capabilities. It also has a 5-Megapixel sensor for front camera.
Sensors on board are proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, infrared, and digital compass. In terms of connectivity, it includes a Micro-USB, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, and Bluetooth 4.2.The dimensions of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 are 147.5×1.5×8.3mm weighing 146 grams. The battery backup offered is 3000mAh.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 is priced at CNY 799 (approx. 8,400 INR) for the 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory variant, and CNY 999 (approx. 10,500 INR) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB inbuilt memory variant. It will first go on sale in the home country on 15th June from 10 am CST onwards.
