Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi 4, successor to Redmi 3 and Redmi 3S today in India. Along with this, they also introduced the first smart router in India known as the Mi Router 3C. According to Manu Jain, the Vice President and India Managing Director of Xiaomi, Redmi 3S was last year’s best selling smartphone and sold 4 million units in total.
Redmi 4 is coming in three different variants depending on the storage. The base model which has 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM is priced at Rs 6,999. The other 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM costs Rs 8,999 while the 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM variant is priced at Rs 10,999. It is expandable upto 128GB via microSD card. This year, Xiaomi has launched 3 Redmi phones which includes Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A and now this latest Redmi 4.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 is powered by Adreno 505 GPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 Octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHZ. It runs on Android 6.0.1 with MIUI 8 which will soon be upgraded into Android N. Redmi 4 sports a 5-inch HD display with a 2.5D curved glass making it super comfortable to handle. It has a metal body along with a fingerprint sensor. The battery backup of this phone offers a massive 4100mAh which can survive up to 2 days in normal usage.
This smartphone has a PDAF (phase detection auto-focus) 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 front camera with Beautify mode of 5-megapixel. The video quality supported by the device is 1080P full HD recording. It is ideal for capturing pictures and selfies with fast focus. Redmi 4 comes with 4G LTE and VoLTE which covers all India LTE bands along with a Dual SIM slot (3 choose 2 hybrid SIM tray).
This phone is available in two matte colour variants – Black and Gold. Xiaomi Redmi 4 will conduct its first sale on Mi.com and Amazon.in on 23 rd May’17 at 12 PM. Although, the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant will be launched around the end of June. You can also book this device on Mi Store as well.
Mi Router 3C comes with 4 antennas featuring 2-transmit and 2 receive antenna including a PCB circuit. You can easily use this router with the help of Xiaomi’s Mi Wi-Fi app with a range of 80 metres. The storage capacity of this smart router is 64MB RAM along with a speed of 300Mbps.
The features of Mi Router 3C includes Wi-Fi guest sharing password, parental controls, QoS to limit bandwidth, Wi-Fi boost and makes you access to bandwidth usage with the help of real time monitoring. This router can be connected to 64 devices, 44 loT devices along with 20 computing devices.
Xiaomi has recently opened it’s first Mi Home Store in Bengaluru at Phoenix Market City. The customers in Bengaluru can buy the Redmi 4 from 20 th May’17 from the store directly. The device is also open for pre-orders which can be made by giving an advance of Rs. 1000 between 16th to 19th May. They can collect the pre-booked phone on 20 th May from the store.
Xiaomi Mi Router 3C is priced at Rs 1,199 and will also roll out on 20th May at Mi Home Store in Bengaluru. For the online buyers, it will be available on Mi.com from 23rd May’17 and for Amazon.in & Flipkart.com from 8th June’17.
