WhatsApp: Upcoming Feature Update to Simplify Replying on Group

WhatsApp has is now testing some new features on its beta app. In the most recent beta version, a new app feature that involves replying to a message in a group has been witnessed, as per the reports.

This new feature is installed on WhatsApp beta for Android. The version number for this update is 2.17.316. When you want to reply to a particular message in a group, what you had to do is tap on that message. Then, you have to select the reply button. Finally, you start typing out your message. But with the help of this new feature, the app will be able to make a new two-step process instead of the present three-step one. All you have to do is tap on the message you want to respond to and simply start typing your response. Once you send your message, the original message that you had touched on will be showed. Eventually, the final output will look like you have responded to a particular message.

People are hoping for this feature to quicken the process of responding to only specific contacts in a WhatsApp group.

WhatsApp Verified Accounts

Of late, WhatsApp for Business has also gotten a new feature in the form of Verified Accounts.

As per the FAQ page on WhatsApp, “If you see a green badge next to a contact’s name, it means that WhatsApp has confirmed the phone number of this contact belonging to a business account.”

This latest update lets businesses fix their working hours. If people call a business account, and if people there are unavailable, you will get an ‘away’ message in return from the app. Business groups will also be able to manage their automatic messages. Also, customers will be able to block all the businesses, which they do not want to be contacted by.

According to the reports, the WhatsApp business verification feature is only limited to a small number of businesses, who have participated in the pilot program. “When a business status changes (when a business becomes verified by WhatsApp), you will be notified in the chat through yellow messages (like the security code of contact changes),” says WABetaInfo.
