Tesla has launched 200 Limited Edition Carbon Fiber Surfboards at $1500! Tesla has added a unique product in its online shop. The company has released 200 limited edition carbon fiber Surfboards. It features a mix of matte and gloss finish that is used in Tesla vehicles. The design of Tesla is combined with patented tech from the very famous surfboard shaper for World Surf League Championship athletes Matt Biolos, founder of ‘Lost Surfboards’. Thus, the
surfboards have Biolos’s signature ‘Black Dart’ patented carbon fiber.
Black Dart is basically a high quality fiber which has replaced the basic bidirectional carbon weaves which were seen on boards earlier. The overall material is less rigid which makes it better for handling impacts and also has a quick response.
The Tesla shop’s product page reads, “The Limited Edition Tesla Surfboard features a mix of the same high-quality matte and gloss finishes used on all our cars. The deck is reinforced with light-weight “Black Dart” carbon fiber, inspired by the interiors in our cars, and featuring tonal logos in subtle contrast gloss.”
Going by the description given on the site, it has a lot of good features like forwarding thickness flow for great paddle-ability and thin rails for better control. The bottom of the board has also been double layered of 4oz cloth for
ensuring optimum dent resistance. The Tesla surfboards are designed in a way that it will fit seamlessly on the outside or inside of Model S, X and 3 cars. Every product in the 200 available surfboards is custom made to order which takes up to 2-10 weeks for delivery.
Now, let’s come to the interesting part! Priced at $1500, the Tesla surfboards cost more than double the price of the most expensive models of Lost Surfboard. However, that doesn’t stop people from buying this. According to the company’s site, the product is already out of stock. Currently, people only have Twitter to complain about this situation.
Starting with Flamethrowers and now surfboards, we are super excited to know what amazingly random stuff
we get to see next from Elon Musk. One thing is for sure, whatever he’ll come up with, it will sell out
