2019 will be an interesting year for the world of tech as Samsung will be launched the much anticipated foldable smartphone in March 2019. According to the sources the tech giant has planned to introduce its first ever foldable smartphone in March, along with a fifth-generation (5G) network-powered Galaxy S10. Samsung will be starting the year by unveiling the flagship Galaxy S10 smartphone in February, followed by the presumed foldable Galaxy F and another edition of the Galaxy S10 in March, Yonhap news agency reported.
The reports were concluded after Koh Dong-jin, the President of the Mobile Communication Business at Samsung Electronics said that the company will release a foldable smartphone within the first half of 2019. He further added that the shipment volume of the foldable smartphone will be at least 1 million.
According to the experts of the tech industry, Samsung could showcase the novel and the much anticipated foldable smartphone in the Mobile World Congress in February, ahead of the official launch in the following month. However, the new Samsung device is not expected to support the 5G network.
The price of the foldable smartphone is neither revealed or even decided. But according to industry experts, it might cost around $1,770. The hefty price is surely going to impact the sales and even limit the sales.
But according to the recent announcements by Samsung, the upcoming smartphone will fold inward and will sport a 7.4-inch screen when unfolded and have a 4.6-inch display like a regular smartphone when folded.
This surely brings the science Fiction to life but will Samsung be able to successfully please the consumers with its new foldable smartphone? Moreover, the new foldable smartphone also marks the dawn of a new era in the world of smartphone. But are we still ready for foldable smartphones?
