Snapchat Snappables for Augmented Reality Games has been rolled out. It can be controlled by using touch, motion, and facial expressions. In this, multiple users can play Snappables games like fighting aliens, activated by the user’s facial experiences. Snapchat has now announced latest lenses called Snappables that will let users play Augmented Reality games with friends. Other than games, users can also become a part of other Snappables AR experiences such as playing basketball, dnce parties, firming a rock band, etc. According to the company, new Snapchat Snappables will get released every week.
Snapchat has moved the World and face Lenses to the right of the camera icon. The Snapchat Snappables can now be easily accessed from the left side. The users will have to follow the directions given on the screen after they click on the lens. Similarly, users can also choose the Snappable they like to get started and also invite friends for playing along. Now, users can challenge friends through Snappables and beat their high score and can even invite them to multiplayer games, etc.
This is not the first time that Snapchat has made AR games available, that might have been a part of test. The games were included to Lenses itself. For example, one of the games wanted users to move their heads in the direction they want their AR characters to move in like up, down, left, and right. Now, with Snappables could launch a better and more better & polished version of similar games. Snapchat Lenses and filters are pretty popular amongst its users worldwide, especially youth. With Snappables, the messaging platform is getting bigger on AR by adding a feature that is so far not available on rival portals like Instagram and Facebook. We are eager to see whether Snapchat Snappables becomes a hit or not!
We read on a Snapchat post, “Snappables are a new form of interactive Lenses through which Snapchatters can share experiences and play together in AR…anytime, anywhere. These experiences will live right in Snapchat’s Lens Carousel, but this time to the left side of the circular capture button. (World and face Lenses today are to the right).” Snappables will roll out to Snapchat users globally this week on both the platforms – iOS and Android.
