DESIGN

Samsung’s new affordable J6 smartphone can directly compete with smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Samsung introduced J6 with an infinity display. In fact, it is the first smartphone from J-series that comes with infinity display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Galaxy J6 has the beautiful Super AMOLED display to offer bright saturated colours. Talking about the back, Samsung seems to have used plastic instead of glass. Right below the camera, there is a fingerprint sensor which feels tiny, but it does register fingerprint accurately and quickly. Apart from fingerprint scanner, the Galaxy J6 has included facial recognition which works like charm.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy J6 has got a Samsung Experience UI, which has a different look than the traditional stock Android UI. The J6 is powered by Exynos 7870 Octa processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Though it offers mid-range specs, the device handles every task smoothly but struggles to perform while heavy multitasking, which is bad considering other smartphones available at a similar price range. It has separate card tray for SIM1 and a hybrid SIM/MicroSD card tray, you will have to choose which is more important, the secondary nano-SIM or more storage. Considering the display, it boasts a 5.6-inch HD+ sAMOLED display with 294 ppi density which is adequate for the price of the smartphone. With 3000mAh battery, Samsung Galaxy J6 gets through the day with moderate usage.

Camera

The camera of the Samsung Galaxy J6 sports 8-megapixel front-facing cameras with f/1.9 aperture. One of the biggest highlights is the flash that offers various intensity of light instead of just ON or OFF. So, taking a selfie with flash doesn’t overblow the images and also captures a good selfie in low light. On the rear side, the device comes with the 13-megapixel camera that takes decent photos.
