Well, Samsung has finally launched its flagship device – Samsung Galaxy S10 plus in India. They also received 2 times more pre-orders than the previous flagship S9+. So, is it a good smartphone to buy? Let’s find it out.
Samsung Galaxy S10 plus is the 10th smartphone from S-series and because of this, the device got a huge number of features packed in a single device.
Starting from the design.
While S8 and S9 look quite similar, the S10 has also taken some design inspiration from its predecessor but with a brand new look. The bezel got a lot slimmer and now it includes a hole punch which Samsung calls it an Infinity-O display. The Galaxy S10+ has a 6.4-inch QHD+ dynamic AMOLED display making it one of the best display available on a phone. It also supports HDR10+ content which delivers vivid colours content.
The side gets a chrome finish similar to the iPhone Xs. On the left, there is a volume button and a Bixby button, which I think is useless, and on the right is the power button. For some reason, they shifted the power button a bit upwards making it difficult to click without pushing the device downwards. On the bottom, it has a type-c port, speaker grill and the in-famous 3.5mm headphone jack. And on the top side, it has the SIM slot along with the mic.
For the back, I have very mixed feelings, they got back to a similar looking Note8 design but houses all the three cameras and the sensors. The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the front under the display. Samsung has used an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for 3D contours of a physical thumbprint.
It has a 12-megapixel main camera module with dual aperture. It means it can switch to f1.5 and f2.4 aperture. The second camera is a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with an f2.4 aperture and there is a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The can camera can capture 4K videos at 60 frames per second. It also has the first camera to record video in HDR10+. Means it can capture high detailed HDR kind of videos making the video more vivid and highly detailed.
The Galaxy S10 Plus has a dual camera punch hole giving it a unique look. There are a lot of wallpapers that will make you fall in love with the punch hole design. It has one main camera and the second is a wide angle camera. This one helps you to take group selfie without any worries.
Now talking about specs, the Galaxy s10 plus is powered by Exynos processor paired with 8GB RAM. Galaxy S10 also comes up with a whopping 12GB RAM, but we have the 8GB RAM variant which is more than enough for my daily task. For storage, it comes up to 1TB of massive storage, and the one we have is the 128GB variant. It can also be expanded via. MicroSD card.
Overall, the device performs very fast and with few days of use, I didn’t notice any lag even doing heavy multitasking.
One of the interesting features is the wireless power share. So, we can charge any other wireless charging enabled device including iPhone Xs whose battery doesn’t last long.
