Not A Sixer

Running on Snapdragon 450, the phone doesn’t feel slow but it does lack some premium feature including 4K recording.

The Samsung Galaxy A6+ sports a curved metallic unibody that fits perfectly on hands. There is a visible antenna line on the Galaxy A6+ giving the phone a unique look. On the front, the device comes with 6-inch full HD super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio which Samsung calls it an infinity display. The super AMOLED display is mostly found in Note series and S series. The AMOLED display does offer saturated colours by default and it can be adjusted from settings based on user preferences.

The Galaxy A6+ uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset which is an entry-level chipset. It is an efficient processor capable of handling a daily task like browsing, messaging and basic multitasking. Paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, the phone can be further expanded by microSD card slot. As per our testing, the device does performs well including multitasking. It even handles games like Modern Combat 4, PUBG plays very well at moderate settings. The Galaxy A6+ runs latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with Samsung customization called – Experience UI. As for battery life, the 3500mAh battery managed to easily last a day without breaking a sweat, and I easily saw screen-on-time of four hours on average.

The Galaxy A6+ sports dual rear camera setup on the back, featuring 16-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel depth-sensing camera. It has the usual options for Panorama, Pro Mode, Video and Portrait modes. They also have added an augmented reality(AR) stickers which are usually found on flagship Samsung smartphones. Despite taking good pictures at bright environments, the camera doesn’t do too well in low light conditions. The depth sensing camera comes handy while taking a portrait shot. There is a 24-megapixel selfie camera on the front along with LED flash. It can take good selfie pictures in bright daylight and even in dark with the help of flash. The front camera can also able to handle face recognition very well.

The Samsung Galaxy A6+ is a very slim and sleek smartphone with premium build quality. It does take good photos but isn’t enough to justify the price tag it comes with.
