OnePlus has launched a new luxury smartphone – OnePlus 6T McLaren edition in India on Wednesday. The smartphone marks the start of a long-term partnership, bringing together the brand’s philosophies – ‘Never Settle’ and ‘Fearlessly Forward’. The McLaren edition comes with a new design texture, 10GB of RAM and Warp Charge to amplify the speed of the smartphone. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is priced at Rs 50,999 starting December 15 on Amazon India, OnePlus India Store and OnePlus Experience Stores. The smartphone also comes with a book celebrating the history of both companies, called ‘Salute to Speed’.
Starting with the design of the device, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition features a carbon fiber pattern below the glass on the rear panel and a Papaya Orange finish around the bottom edge of the device. The new Warp charger comes in a gloss black colour and has a new charging standard that claims to provide 50% charge in just 20 minutes. The type-c cable has also been wrap with papaya orange sleeving giving it a fresh look. While the OnePlus 6T McLaren is a limited edition is similar to the regular OnePlus 6T devices with some enhancements. The major upgrade over the 6T is the 10GB RAM and the Warp Charge. Other key features include the ability to film in 4K at 60fps, thanks to a colossal 10 GB of RAM.
The new Warp Charge is said to be based on OPPO’s Super VOOC Charge. The Integrated Circuits in both the charger and the phone are finely tuned power management software to power up the device without generating excessive heat.
Specifications of OnePlus 6T include 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 3,700mAh battery. The phone also features vertically stacked 16MP+20MP rear cameras with support for Night Scape mode, as well as a 20MP front camera. It runs OxygenOS, based on Android 9 Pie.
