A wise man once said, ‘Product is King’. The reason why I have cited this quote at the start of my review is that OnePlus is a perfect example of the same.

PERFORMANCE

Year after year, OnePlus has been known to launch one flagship product every summer with the latest Qualcomm processor. Last year, it was the OnePlus 5 with the Snapdragon 835 and this time the Chinese smartphone maker has been the first to introduce the Snapdragon 845 in the Indian market with this device. And yes, this processor coupled up with 8 Gigs of RAM and the a smooth OxygenOS – makes up for one of the fastest Android smartphones in the world! With an Antutu benchmark score of 265969, it even leaves behind Samsung’s 2018 flagship – S9 by a considerable margin! So yes, if speed and multitasking is your primary need in a smartphone- look no further!

Display

The 6 now features edge-toedge display, complete with iPhone X-style notch to house the front-facing camera, speaker and sensors. The 2280 x 1080p AMOLED display is bright and clear, with vivid, vibrant colours. It certainly looks the business, and content like movies and pictures really pop.

Camera

Another noteworthy upgrade in this year’s OnePlus flagship is the camera. Yes, the 5 & the 5T were not very strong on this front and this issue has been addressed well with the 6. On the back there are two cameras: a main 16-megapixel f/1.7 one that’ll take the majority of photos, and a secondary 20-megapixel sensor for helping with the portrait mode. A big update this time around is the introduction of optical image stabilisation (OIS), which has been missing since the OnePlus 3T. OnePlus has been altering how the secondary camera functions since it introduced the feature with the OnePlus 5. It also features improved slow-motion video capabilities, including the ability to shoot 480fps footage at 720p and 240fps footage at 1080p.
