The ‘King’ of Androids!

OnePlus 5 is definitely one of the most anticipated phones of 2017 and that’s mainly because of the addition of the latest Snapdragon 835 processor which has been coupled with 8GB of RAM!

How does it perform?

Not very long ago, 8GB of RAM in a laptop or a PC seemed to be a good idea and now we have mobile phones with the same! OnePlus devices have always been great performers and the 5 is no exception! With an Antutu benchmark score of 178455, the OnePlus 5 even leaves the iPhone 7 behind! We tried playing graphic heavy games like the Asphalt 8 and as expected, the device performed exceptionally well without breaking a sweat.

Another improvement over the earlier OnePlus devices is that the overheating issue has been resolved and during some intense usage even while charging, the device did not heat up a lot.

What so special?

The dual-camera Setup- Now this is one thing OnePlus has been marketing their new flagship device on and we put this claim on test by using it side by side with the iPhone 7 Plus, LG G6 and the Honor 8. It even comes with a Pro mode in which you can manually adjust the ISO, focus setting. Since this is a dual-cam setup, we tested the Depth/Bokeh effect and we were left impressed!

The depth effect ends up giving you a DSLR-like feel to your pictures! Shooting videos is also a bliss and this section of the review deserves a solid 9/10.

Multitasking has never been easier and as you are aware, it comes with 8 gigs of RAM, so no question of lagging there. It still sports a Full HD display and we would’ve love to see the device coming with more vivid 2K display and probably with smaller bezels as well, just like the latest Samsung S8 and the LG G6.

Should I buy one?

If you are looking to buy a phone which is heavy on performance, the OnePlus 5 will impress you on many counts. Yes, the display could have been better but apart from that, the OnePlus 5 can easily be termed as the ‘King’ of Androids!
