When it comes to video games, it is difficult to please sports fans. They demand perfection, just like the actual sport. From accurate simulation of the sport, to life-like representation of players, there are a lot of challenges. Of all the sports games around, 2K\’s NBA has been the most consistent one. This is the sixteenth installment of the NBA 2K franchise, and the game has improved year on year. The game is developed by Visual Concepts, a studio known for its expertise in development of sports games. With experience of fifteen previous NBA titles, nothing could go wrong with NBA 2K15, could it?

Right from the start, you cannot deny the perfection NBA 2K15 achieves. The players, coaches, teams, crowd, everything is well designed. Visual Concepts have taken the actual scenes from a basketball court and put it on your console. Not that you expected anything different from them.

Every sports simulation has two important aspects, visuals and gameplay. While the developers have ticked all the boxes with the visuals, they haven\’t put a foot wrong when it comes to gameplay. The movement of the players is fluid, and so are their skills. It is really easy to adapt to the playing style. Having said that, you can\’t just breeze past defenders and come up with an extravagant slam-dunk. You have to be patient, and of course, your tactical nous is tested, just like it should in any sports simulation. Shooting feels great, precision being the key there. A few hours with the game, and you are ready to take on the world. When it comes to defending, be prepared to get torn to pieces by good passing and movement initially. Once you are familiar with the controls, and use right defensive and offensive tactics, you will start turning things around. Visual Concepts have done a great job, both visually and gameplay

NBA 2K15 brings a lot of game modes. As expected, MyCareer takes your player on the path to being an NBA superstar. You face all the challenges that a real NBA superstar does. MyCareer Mode has been revamped with some new additions such as the mentor and upgrading system. In whichever team you play for your MyPlayer will now speak to the leader of the team before and after games. 2K has implemented their voices providing for a more in-depth user experience. MyCareer also uses a new upgrading system which gets more virtual currency from endorsement deals, completing challenges, and badges (they come in bronze, silver, and gold). A new coach satisfaction system has also been introduced that provides real-time feedback based on your MyPlayer\’s court performance. MyPlayer will be mentored by Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers who will either praise or admonish your player based on your gameplay. The Career mode has everything that will keep you hooked to the game. NBA 2K15 allows players to scan their faces into the game for created players, using the PlayStation Camera on PlayStation 4 or the Kinect on Xbox One.

Manu-GinobiliThe 3-D mapping process creates a realistic rendition of the gamers face to make their gaming experience as real as possible. The process of scanning the face will take about 30 seconds. Some of the morphed faces are hilarious. But overall, this feature works very well. The game also has a MyPark mode which allows you to play 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 games online. If you come up against pro players, you will be end up losing a lot of games. You will enjoy both the modes without having the thought of putting your console off.

NBA 2K15 has everything that a basketball fan wants. With superb graphics and perfect gameplay, NBA 2K15 won\’t disappoint you at all. If you aren\’t of basketball, pick up the game to see what a sports simulation should look like.
