MSI GT80 seems like the God Father of all gaming devices. Although, it exceeds the gaming device in weight, it makes up for that with its SLI configuration, mechanical keyboard and nahamic dynaudio sound enhancer. Its incredible resolution, 18.4-inch display, dedicated top end graphics and impressive audio quality keeps it a notch above the rest. Your pockets need to be quite deep in order to afford the highest performing beastfrom MSI. By the looks and weight alone, it feels like a hybrid of a Laptop and Desktop – not the kind you can whimsically carry around everyday unless you are a heavy UFC fighter. You need to think 10 times before unleashing this monster out on the road for travel purposes. This beast has got quite the volume and sound quality on him too.
Build and Design :
MSI GT 80 2QE\’s gorgeous design, monstrous size built and sturdy material body is a testament to the power it holds within. It bolsters an elegant design with brushed aluminum finish. It cherishes the MSI logo branding on the back that lights up as the dragon awakes from its sleep in its switched on state. It also provides three USB 3.0 ports including one for charging a multi-card reader having Bluray read and write, Ethernet, HDMI port, USB 3.0 ports and more. It has one switch to turn on the fan and another to change the color of the backlit keyboard that looks aesthetically appealing. Its Cherry MX mechanical keyboard by Steel Series is one of a kind – soundssoothingly clicker and extremely comfortable for typing. It further gets a dual mode touchpad withNumpad options that looks beautiful when lit up and works pretty well. Its 18.4 inch Anti-Glare Wide View FHD with 1080 x 1920p resolution and True Color Technology renders astounding sharpness and clarity also the contrast ratio and color composition is suitably good. Overall design and built both go hand and hand, complementing each other really well.
It is simply a monster house for all gamers as it packs an Intel Core i7-4720HQ 2.6 GHz Processor, 16GB DDR3 SDRAM, and Nvidia GE Force 980M SLI and that\’s an almost unbeatable specs for any high end gaming laptop to compete with. It lavishes over a 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD Memory plus a 256GB SSD from SUPER RAID for additional performance boost. Its sound handled by Dino plus its subwoofer that supports their Audio Boost Technology generates amazing audio quality. Furthermore, they have put so much volume into this beast that it never ran out of volume I didn\’t even look around for my speakers and my headset for the initial two days. Not just that, its Creative Sound Blaster cinema translates it into the best sounding laptops. We tried running GTA 5, NFS, Assassins Creed and Call of Duty: Advanced warfare on it and the performance was extraordinarily impressive smooth, lag free, no stuttering and fluid. It literally felt like playing a high end desktop gaming machine, despite being a portable device. It\’s absolutely crazy high performance gets you to an average 90 fps on ultra graphics settings. Heating up due to rigorous crazy gaming hours will not see a trouble there, as it provides the exhaust fan that ventilates the heat outside from its massively open exit sides with just the touch of a button, hence, cooling the system down to a zero balance. Its battery lasts unusually longer than average gaming laptops. Overall feature and performance is outstanding, therefore, gets double aces in my book making it to my list of favorite monster gaming laptops this year.
MSI GT80 is an incredible gaming machine and is well suited only for those who have extreme gaming habits, like bigger screens, have a thing for better displays, need completely hassle free performance, and does not mind shelling a bomb of a price.
