Moto G5S users can rejoice as Motorola is rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo OTA update. To be more specific, the company is bringing the August security patch version to Moto G5S devices.
According to a report by BGR, the update rollout was first listed by The Android Soul. The update not only brings Android Oreo to the device but receives the August security patch. No other additional changes have been mentioned in update changelogs.
Moto G5S users will be disappointed to know that Motorola will not be bringing Android Pie in the future. The Moto G5, G5+ and the G5S+ are also among the list of devices announced by Motorola that will not receive the latest version of Android.
The Moto G5S has a 5.2-inch FullHD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz and 3GB RAM combined with 32GB internal storage.
In terms of camera, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture at the rear. The Moto G5S launched with Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
