Xiomi MIUI 9.2 Update
The MIUI 9.2 global stable ROM has begun to roll out for the aforesaid phones. The Redmi 5A has begun receiving the MIUI 9.2. The update includes a new Mi Mover functionality that’s available for better data migration. It offers a simplified UI design along with optimisations for the icons section. System improvements in MIUI 9.2 include a new distance sensor dynamic calibration function. A few users also report that the App Vault feature has rolled out with the new update. You can access it by swiping right from the home screen. It will bring you an easy access to frequently used Shortcuts, Notes, Calendar Events, and Cricket widgets.
The App Lock on MIUI 9.2 supports a functionality like “hiding messages from selected apps.” The home screen offers optimizations for moving app icons into folders, clock widget supported themes and adding widgets to an empty spot. There is also a fix available in the Gallery for image compression.
Some other optimizations on Mi Drop include time sorting for received files and fixing issues with loading big GIFs.
If you want to update to the latest version from MIUI 5, MIUI 6, MIUI 7, or MIUI 8, then you can directly go through OTA, or you can go manually by flashing the ROM. Backup your data to avoid any loss. Users on developer version can’t update using OTA.
