Premium Brands such as Mont Blanc and TAG Heuer have already delved into the world of Smartwatches and given it a taste of luxury. The latest addition to the list is French brand Louis Vuitton who marked their entrance with a range of elegant “Tambour Horizon” Smartwatches.
The luxury brand has launched the watch at steep albeit expected price, ranging between 2450$ to 2900$ (around Rs1,5800 to Rs1,8700). The watch is the epitome of indulgence: Available in stainless, brushed, and black steel, with over 60 Louis Vuitton straps to choose between. The 1.2 inch circular AMOLED display is supported by a sophisticated stainless steel framework. The only questionable area in its design is the thickness; the 12.5 mm thick watch is quite bulky and althoughthe beautifully curved edge disguises this flaw, one could expect a slightly sleeker design from Louis Vuitton.
The Tambour Horizon watches run on Android Wear 2.0 and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. The device has a 300mAH battery, a 4GB storage, and a 512MB RAM. The watch has a pedometer and is waterproof up to 30 meters, however, it lacks a heart rate monitor. The back and front are made of sapphire glass and the screen has a resolution of 390X390-pixel. It is compatible with both iOS and Android through Bluetooth and even has wifi. The watch is available in three colours graphite, brown, and black– each sexier than the other.
The watch also boasts of some exclusive features such as: “City Guide” which provided curated information about restaurants, hotels, historical landmarks etc and “My Flight” which gives up to date flight information to users. Apart from this, it has all the common features such as calls, messages, emails, alarms, and timers.
The watch is literally the definition of luxury and is drop dead gorgeous. However such extravagance comes at a price (pun intended). If however, one is comfortable with the extortionate cost than this device will not be a letdown. To all those who love to bask in opulence, this watch will be your sun.
