First Impressions:

Apple iPhone or iPad does not come with an external memory, and we have been living with this for years. And, have probably been waiting for long since we first saw an Apple product. Well… the wait ends here as Leef iBridge bridges that gap bringing in a USB flash drive that connects to the Lightening port of Apple device like iPad and iPhone as well as the USB port on a desktop or a Laptop. It\’s 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB capacities come with the prices ranging from $59.99 to $399.99.

Build and Design :

iBridge\’s sturdy material built and a stylish S shaped curvy design is very hi-tech and fancy. USB Type A plug and the Lightning plug also point in a similar direction. The design form factor is pretty new and gives it a very out of box look. It fits and slips easily in your pockets measuring a 2.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 and weighs lesser than an ink pen. You can clip this on a bag or a chain without any inspection. A blue LED light appears as the driver is accessed, which is suggested to be switched off during the removal from the devices. Black color is its original and only color that blends in perfectly with its design aesthetics. It looks professional but also gives you an edge with its sleek curviness.

Performance:

Leef iBridge functions exactly like other flash drive when plugged into the USB port on a PC or Mac; and appears as a removable drive in file managers. It provides a maximum transfer rate of 60 megabytes per second (Mbps) as the device uses a standard USB 2.0. Our tests on this device reveals – 10 to 12 seconds for removal and 20 to 22 seconds for copying of a 100 GB file. However, it requires an app Post plugging to the Lightening port to access files from Apple devices. Don\’t worry the app comes with no charge as such. More than anything, it allows transfer of files, Content Viewer, and iBridge Camera.

The first category opens file transfer window allowing us to move or copy images from the iPad\’s camera roll directly on to the flash drive. Its file manager appears as a removal drive like other USB drives on your desktop and Mac devices. The second category in the iBridge app lets you control the content with the Content Viewer window allowing you to view the other types of files. The third category allows us to take snaps with the iPad\’s camera and save them directly to the iBridge flash drive.

Verdict:

Leef iBridge is the answer to all the complaints Apple has been facing criticism from due to lack of storage drives. It\’s sturdy, designed elegant and provides extra space – What else do we want. Saving multimedia files is now no longer an issue for Apple user, given they are ready to shell a heavy duty pricing for these USB drives.
