Intex launched three new devices under Aqua series named the Aqua 4.0 4G, the Aqua Crystal, and Aqua Supreme+. It’s time to review the top-most model from the series, Intex Aqua Supreme+ smartphone.
HOW DOES IT FEEL OUT OF THE BOX?
On opening the box, you’ll see the Intex Aqua Supreme+ smartphone lying inside, underneath the smartphone contains a Power Adapter MicroUSB cable, headset, Transparent Hard Plastic case, screen protector, SIM ejection tool and finally a User manual. Looking at the device, it looks very simple and to be honest, unattractive. The back of the phone is made up of glossy plastic with feels cheap. The Supreme+ has 7.9 mm of thickness and weighs 133 grams. The compact size and weight make its comfortable to hold, and the buttons are well within reach of your thumb.
The device has 5-inch IPS HD display, which is manageable for a screen of this size. Also, you will find a capacitive non-backlit navigation buttons below the display. The headphones socket and MicroUSB port are both placed on the top, while the dual-SIM tray is on the left. On the back, camera and LED flash are located on the top left. HOW DOES IT PERFORM?
The Intex Aqua Supreme+ is the first ever multilingual 4G VoLTE-enabled smartphone which runs on Indus OS based on Android Marshmallow. We experienced slight lag throughout the OS, when scrolling and when switching between apps. The device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC with only 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
The device runs Indus OS 2.0 that doesn’t tamper too much with Android Marshmallow’s design. That improves the software experience a bit, its regional language & other regional features will be helpful to the rural population and to those who find smartphones complicated. It is easy to change the system language through Indus Settings applications. Indus also provides its own keyboard, that can translate or transliterate from English to your native language.
HOW IS THE CAMERA?
Intex Aqua Supreme+ sports 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, Autofocus and record up to 720p HD video with EIS setting. The devices also have Dual-LED flash on the rear for night photography. Coming to the camera quality, the output is pretty average. On the front, the device has 5 Megapixel camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and 1.12um pixel size. The front camera has face beauty feature which enhances your selfies making them blemish free & brighter.

Intex Aqua Supreme Plus is a value for money device and offers good performance for its price range. It has a sharp IPS display, great battery life, 4G VoLTE support plus it is capable of handling most of the tasks with ease. However, in the same price range, you have better smartphones available in the market such as Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime, Lenovo K6 Power and Honor 5c that offer fantastic performance and specifications.
