Infinix Note 4 Review: Budget Friendly

Infinix is one of the newest brand in the market with the launch of Note 4 that offers good specs at a low-end budget segment. The introduction of new brands in Indian market always creates healthy competition. The new Infinix Note 4 can compete with brands like Xiaomi, Micromax, Coolpad, InFocus, Oppo and Vivo.

HOW DOES IT FEEL OUT OF THE BOX?

At the first look, the Infinix Note 4 looks massive with a 5.7-inch bright display and a beautiful glossy back panel. This makes the device look more premium but more prone to scratches mostly on the back. However, we felt that the bezels on the top and bottom are extremely thick. The power and the volume buttons are located on the right side. The 3.5mm audio jack is located at the top and the micro USB charging jack at the bottom with speaker grills (one on either side of the micro USB port). Don’t get carried away by the grills though; they do not house stereo speakers. It comes with a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The phone measures at 8.4mm and weighs whooping 204 grams which is quite heavier compared to other phones out there in the market. For added security, Infinix included fingerprint scanner at the front is pretty responsive. The main highlight of the device is a huge 4300mAh battery. You can stay without charges for more than two days. No need of power bank and charger.

HOW DOES IT PERFORM?

The device is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with a combination of 3GB RAM and Mali T720MP2 graphics chip. Daily usage like browsing, watching videos and other less demanding operations performs fairly well. Talking about storage, 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded with microSD memory cards, so that you can store millions of pictures and dozens of videos on your phone.

The battery performance is quite impressive with 4300 mAh battery that gave more than a day of usage before it ran out of juice, and there is fast charging support as well. The Note 4 runs Infinix’s own custom UI, called XOS, this time cloaking Android 7.0 Nougat operating system underneath. XOS is light and breezy and includes all sorts of nifty tools. Some include the ability to block numbers for calls and SMS. One nifty feature is that from time to time, you are notified of the power intensive apps on the phone. The Infinix Note 4 also comes with a fingerprint sensor to make your phone safe from unauthorized access. The fingerprint sensor unlocks the device at a lightning fast speed compared to other smartphones in the same range.

Talking about the connectivity, Note 4 is a dual SIM (GSM + CDMA and GSM + CDMA) smartphone that accepts Micro-SIM on both slots. It also comes with Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.

VERDICT

The Infinix Note 4 is a great device if you want to buy a budget smartphone. It gives a good performance, neat design, add-on software and a long-lasting battery at a price of 8,999 INR. But this smartphone also lacks camera quality and heavy gaming capabilities. We can’t expect all the features within a small budget. Under 10,000 INR budget, these features are excellent.
