Facebook came up with this feature to tackle its rival Snapchat. This Snapchat-inspired feature was first introduced by the social media site in March 2017.
Facebook Stories, a feature that was launched in the early half of this year. This feature allows instant sharing of photos and videos with friends. In its new update, the feature will now also allow public sharing with new privacy settings.
As we all know, these Stories are highly inspired from Snapchat. Initially, the Facebook’s Stories feature was launched with a default setting. This by default sharing set up allowed its end users to share the photos and videos with friends alone. Now, with the latest update, the feature permits the sharing of photos and videos with the public. Hence, everyone can watch your stories now.
Instagram also provides a stories feature. Instagram is a social media channel owned by Facebook. This platform is quite popular with public figures and celebrities. Celebs and important persons share their stories and photogenic pictured via Instagram in order to make them accessible to the common public.
Not long ago, the most popular messaging app, WhatsApp, also came up with its own version of stories. WhatsApp is also owned by Facebook.
This new feature is expected to provide various additional features on the platform. People using this program will be able to publically share their stories. This feature may also allow the stories feed on the social media site to be pumped with images and videos shared by celebrities and prominent figures. Nonetheless, the feature is now available.
