Facebook Messenger has almost 1.2 Billion active monthly users. The Messenger’s Home Screen is getting an improved navigation with the latest update. The Home Screen has been refreshed to help us organize our contacts. So, it helps us keep our friends and important contacts easily accessible. Basically, the area along the top of the inbox has got a major refreshment.
Facebook Messenger’s Home Screen update makes a lot of sense as it is given a makeover for faster and better usability. We can now find messages next to the active users which will help us get back to them quickly even in the Group Conversations. Earlier, the Group Conversation was placed at the bottom. Now, the bottom bar will have tabs for calls, camera button, home screen calls, play games and search for people.
In addition, a new Discover app will also get included as soon as the update rolls out. The most interesting thing is a visual clue which we can see as a red dot. The red dot will remind us in case we forget anything. When previously, Facebook was inspired by Snapchat and added the My Day feature on Messenger, it got a little messy because of too much happening in a small space. But, we are thankful because at least Facebook is trying to make it less cluttered.
The Head of Messenger, David Marcus unveiled the update on Thursday. He said that the update is just to ‘simplify navigation across Messenger.’ The new look will be rolled out from this week onwards on all iOS and Android devices across the globe. David Marcus said in a Facebook post,
“These changes are designed to make Messenger simpler for you – to help you get to your contacts quickly, jump into your conversations where you left off, start new chats, and stay up to date.”
