The Canon EOS 3000D is focused on the consumer looking for DSLRs after spending their time with point-and-shoot cameras.

The 3000D look and feel exactly like the other entry-level Canon DSLRs, and the only difference from Canon 1300D is the removal of ON/OFF switch and a auto flash pop-up. The ON/OFF switch has been migrated into the mode dial which was unusual, but consumers upgrading to the DSLR for the first time won’t mind. Even the auto flash popup has been excluded, that means we have to manually pop-out the flash when required. The DSLR come with a optical viewfinder but Canon decided to remove a diopter, which can be a problem for users wearing glass. The Canon has decided to use Plastic for this camera body including the lens mount. The camera weighs just 436 grams including the battery pack. With the Canon body, it also comes with standard EF S 18-55mm f/3.5- 5.6 IS II kit lens and a 16GB memory card.

The Canon EOS 3000D offers basic functions as it is an entry-level DSLR. It does come with a built-in WiFi to transfer images and videos wirelessly to the smartphone. The 3000D comes with a 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor with Canon DIGIC4+ processor. The camera sensor does include 9 auto-focus points and a 3fps burst motor. Speaking about output, the camera can capture JPEG and RAW formats. It can also shoot videos in 720p at 60fps and 1080p at 30fps. The 3000D can also focus on the subject really quick thus resulting into sharp photos and depth in the picture. On a low-light test, the camera can go up to 128000 ISO, but this create noise in the picture. Therefore we would recommend to stay below 1600 ISO to preserve the details. The LP-E10 860 mAh battery can provide backup for 400-500 shots. To charge the battery, it needs to be removed and charged separately using canon provided chargers.
